Top-Quality Apples & Pecans Help Prevent Some Diseases

We still have almost 6000 pounds of harvested apples, stored at 34 F in our 2 coolers to keep them in top eating condition.  We'll have 'Enterprise' apples for sale until about mid-June 2026, and 'Gold Rush' apples for sale until about mid-July 2026.

These apples are far better than any sold in grocery stores, and I eat one raw each day with my lunch.  Eating a raw apple or two each day, instead of processed foods like potato chips or cookies, can help people lose weight, and apples provide needed calcium and fiber.

'Gold Rush' apples keep 10 months in a cooler or fridge & get sweeter during cold storage, while staying very crisp.
For the next 2 months or so, we also still have many freshly-harvested, cracked pecans for saleselections from my husband Bill's pecan breeding program.  All these pecans have large nuts, thin shells and great taste, and I give taste samples.  Pecans are high in protein and omega-3 oils, which can help prevent cancers, heart disease and diabetes.

Since we had such a large apple crop in 2025, our larger cooler in our pecan building will still be full of apples until June 2026.  For the last 2 years we had smaller apple crops, and got all apples out of our larger cooler by mid-Feb., so we could put pecans in that larger cooler before the weather warmed.

This year, we had to sell two 1600-pound super sacks of 'Kanza' pecans to the pecan cracking plant in early Jan. 2026.  So we've now almost sold out of 'Kanza' pecans, but we still have many from Bill's pecan breeding program for the next 2 months or so These are fine in burlap sacks on our pecan building floor, outside the cooler, until the weather warms.

We still have many cracked pecans for saleselections from Bill's pecan breeding program.
Once the weather warms, we'll only keep a few bags of cracked pecans in refrigerators, so we'll likely sell out of pecans by late March 2026, as shown at left under Crop Sales Seasons.  If you'll want to buy more pecans before mid-Nov. 2026, come in Jan. or Feb. 2026.

Our winter/spring open hours started Dec. 16 and go until June 14.  During this time, we're open by appointment, which means to phone 620-597-2450 a day ahead, and leave a message on our answering machine with your name, day and time you'll come, and what you want to buy.  You can make an appointment to arrive here between 10 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., or between 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

As always, we take cash or checks for payment, but NO credit cards or debit cards, and no "apps".  We don't use a smart phone, and have no phone line to the sales building.  So please bring your checkbook or enough cash to cover the amount of fruit and/or pecans you want to buy.  Thanks.

We sell cracked pecans in 4-pound bags, which are over 75% pecan kernels and under 25% shell fragments.  Each bag has the equivalent of 6 pounds of in-shell pecans, and when you pick out the kernels, you get 3 pounds or more of nutmeats.  Each bag costs $19.70 + sales tax.

Harvested apples sell for $1.48 per pound + sales tax for #1 fruit with no damage.  I sort and pack apples into bags in boxes that I weigh to 20 pounds, so if you get a 20-pound box of #1 apples you save $1.00.  We also have some nice #2 fruit, with some surface scarring but no internal damage, that sells for just $1.18 per pound + sales tax.
