Giving Thanks for Great Harvests

We now have many freshly-harvested, cracked pecans for sale, plus some harvested 'Enterprise' and 'Gold Rush' apples.  We'll be closed Thanksgiving Day, but open every other day during our regular Fall Open Hours, shown at left.

My husband Bill is very busy now cracking and bagging the pecans he harvested over the last 3 weeks.  He'd almost finished the first harvest of all the pecan trees before rainy weather set in, so has lots of nuts to crack.  The second pecan harvest can't start until the soil dries out.

We now have selections from Bill's pecan breeding program for sale. The plastic box show what the cracked pecans look like inside the paper bags.
Pecans store well for 3 to 4 months in a fridge, and for over 6 years in a freezer.  We sell cracked pecans in 4-pound bags, which are over 75% pecan kernels and under 25% shell fragments.  Each bag has the equivalent of 6 pounds of in-shell pecans, and when you pick out the kernels, you get 3 pounds or more of nutmeats.  Each bag costs $19.70 + sales tax.

We now have over 2600 pounds of harvested 'Enterprise' apples, and over 2200 pounds of 'Gold Rush' apples, mainly stored in our larger cooler in our pecan building.  Today I picked 300 more pounds of 'Gold Rush' apples into large bins, and will pick more this Thurs. and Fri. afternoon, when the weather will get above 48 F and not be raining.  I'll sort apples out of these bins all winter and spring, into 20-pound trays for sale.

Harvested apples sell for $1.48 per pound + sales tax for #1 fruit with no damage.  I sort and pack apples into bags in boxes that I weigh to 20 pounds, so if you get a 20-pound box of #1 apples you save $1.00.  We also have some nice #2 fruit, with some surface scarring but no internal damage, that sells for just $1.18 per pound + sales tax, and often sells quickly.

Yesterday I sorted and packed these 'Enterprise' apples into 2 bags in this 20-pound box.
We'll have harvested 'Enterprise' apples for sale until about mid-June 2026, and 'Gold Rush' apples for sale until about mid-July 2026.  On cold or rainy days, I'll be in the sales building all during our open hours, sorting and packing apples.  Rainy days are great days to come buy fruit and pecans, since you don't have to call me in from the orchards.

If I'm not in the sales building when you arrive, ring the bell VERY loudly so I can hear it from the back of the orchards, as I'm still harvesting apples.  (If I am in the sales building, please do NOT ring the bell.  Thanks.)

As always, we take cash or checks for payment, but NO credit cards or debit cards, and no phone "apps".  We don't use a smart phone, and have no phone line to the sales building.  So please bring your checkbook or enough cash to cover the amount of produce you want to buy.  Thanks.
